Software Developer/ Liveline Technologies Intern

Job Summary: The Cooper Standard Advanced Technology Team in Livonia, MI has an exciting chance for an Intern to provide support for the Summer 2021 Program. The team is creating an elegant software interface to display and interact with AI-based models at production lines. This position will provide you with the opportunity to contribute to a fast-paced team that is developing advanced analytics for real-time process control. If selected, you will help build the technology stack from the ground up, creating an end to end architecture that will scale as the company grows. You will also work with Liveline Technologies, helping to improve manufacturing performance by harnessing the power of AI to automate complex processes and predict future problems.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • UI development using Nodejs, React, Angular and D3
  • Web/mobile applications, visualization tools
  • Create APIs for data communication: REST, WS, Kafka
  • Perform code reviews for peers
  • Write or maintain technical documentation related to the team's applications
  • Software testing and deployment
 
Requirements:
  • Must have met the credit requirements to achieve Senior level student status prior to May 2020, pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Robotics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
  • Must have a minimum 3.0 G.P.A.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications
  • Strong knowledge, skills, and abilities in the following areas:
  • Problem solving and decision making
  • Problem identification
  • Computer and electronics skills
  • Ability to organize, plan, and complete multiple tasks
  • Possess excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills
 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Critical Thinking: Using logic and reason to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems
  • A solid understanding in JS, Java, C++, REST, and Python
  • Knowledge of NodeJS, ReactJS, Angular, D3, Python, SQL, PHP/Perl
  • Proficient in PowerPoint is preferred
 
Hard Skills:
  • Experience with Open Source Software
  • Experience with SQL/NoSQL databases
  • Experience with the backend and frontend development
  • RESTful web services, Web Sockets, AMQP, Kafka
 
Work Environment/Conditions:
  • Professional Office Environment
  • Must wear proper PPE while on manufacturing floor
  • Travel to manufacturing facilities or customer locations when needed
