Sales Intern

Job Summary: The Cooper Standard Financial Planning and Accounting Team in Livonia, MI has an exciting chance for an Intern to provide support for the Summer 2021 Program. This position will provide you with the opportunity to understand and support the Cooper Standard side of Sales and Marketing Trend Analysis. If selected, you will learn the products, sales process, internal Enterprise Resource Planning and provide Account Manager support. Learning and understanding of the sales, engineering and program management activities within the Business Unit will be established during the internship.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Work with Sales team on open commercial issues and open RFQ’s
  • Responsible for supporting the Sales and Engineering Teams for achievement of profitable growth targets and day-to-day commercial management of department goals
  • Customer relationship management
  • Work with Program Manager’s on open issue deck’s- closure and follow-up activity
  • Supports Sales Analyst with daily sales system administration activities
  • VA/VE
  • Understand the systems for auto-quoting and purchase orders
  • Must create presentations to sell the products to customers and present it to the Sr. Manager for feedback
 
Requirements:
  • Must have met the credit requirements to achieve Senior level student status prior to May 2021, pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Material Science, Electrical Engineering, Business Administration, Marketing or a related field
  • Must have a minimum 3.0 G.P.A.
  • Interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated and a self-starter
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Strong knowledge, skills, and abilities in the following areas:
  • Problem solving and decision making
  • Problem identification
  • Computer and electronics skills
  • Ability to organize, plan, and complete multiple tasks
  • Possess excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills
 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Critical Thinking: Using logic and reason to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems
  • Minimum G.P.A. of 3.4 is preferred
  • Proficient in PowerPoint is preferred

Work Environment/Conditions:
  • Professional Office Environment
  • Must wear proper PPE while on manufacturing floor
  • Travel to manufacturing facilities or customer locations when needed
