Summary
Dialysis technicians are the primary direct care giver for patients undergoing dialysis treatments. Functioning in multiple roles, including monitoring water treatments and vascular access, dialysis technicians respond to the physical and emotional needs of patients undergoing dialysis treatments.
Qualifications
Education
Dialysis Technicians Certification is required in all states on or before 18 months of hire. Graduate of a certified nursing assistant program preferred
High School Diploma or GED-Required
Experience
1 Year(s)-Healthcare Experience-Preferred
Courses in basic sciences; previous health care experience (such as Certified Nurse's Aide or medical technician/technologist) preferred.
Certifications, Licenses and Registrations
Dialysis Technician Certification required within 18 months of hire. In locations that have AED's, certification may be required within 45 days.
Certified Dialysis Technician-Preferred
Basic Life Support (BLS)-Required
Automated External Defibrillator (AED)-Preferred
