Product Management Internship

Bottega Mediterranea (www.bottega.eu) is an online purveyor of fine Mediterranean food with focus in sourcing healthy, natural, and sustainable ingredients directly from farmers and artisan producers.

Founded in 2014, Bottega sells through different channels in both the USA and Canada, and is rapidly expanding operations.

Job Description

We are looking for a Product Management Intern to support in the introduction of at least two different product lines. The intern will work in areas such as new product development, branding, marketing, retailing, and sales. The successful candidate will work as a member of a passionate, start-up company in a fast-paced, creative, challenging environment making great artisan products.

▪ Location: Stamford, CT (option to work remotely due to COVID-19)

▪ Start date: September 1st, 2020.

▪ End date: 3-6 months, to be determined based on need of company and availability of intern

▪ Hours: 20-40 hours/week

▪ Compensation: Paid

Qualifications

You must possess a unique blend of business and technical experience and interest, with emphasis in food products. You might have a big-picture vision, and the drive to make that vision a reality. You must enjoy spending time learning about the gourmet food industry and understanding our opportunities and find innovative solutions for growing our brand’s reach and presence in the e-commerce market.

The Intern will:

• Assist with all aspects of product development from initial concept to final production receipt

• Conduct e-commerce inventory management

• Assist with product development and strategy, liaising with suppliers regarding new product details, samples, new product ordering, and quality control/assessment

• Conduct quality control/assessment of new products

• Develop, analyze and implement innovative online and pop-up sales strategies

• Support the development of brand identity, marketing strategy, and publicity

• Implement strategies to increase sales and brand awareness

• Manage on-line inventory and fulfill customer orders

• Ensure excellent customer service

Desired skills:

• Marketing experience, preferably in an operations or e-commerce role

• Food industry experience and interest

• Who has demonstrated leadership ability, strong analytical, strategic thinking and communication skills

• Must be a team player with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with internal and external partners of all levels.

• Must be highly organized, detail oriented and be able to work independently with strong project management skills.

• Must be able to work independently around deadlines, short turn around times.
