Computer Technician Intern - La Crosse, WI

The statements listed below are not intended to be all inclusive of the duties and responsibilities of the position. Based on leadership decisions and business needs, all other duties as assigned will be expected for each position.
 
Assist a team of computer technicians in managing, maintaining, repairing, testing and shipping equipment used for on-site events. Troubleshoot and provide phone support for providers at on-site events regarding equipment problems and issues. Inventory management of laptops, tablets and digital dental equipment.
 
Primary Responsibilities: 
  • Assist in the maintenance and management of laptops, tablets and digital dental equipment for various events. This responsibility includes: keeping inventory updated, syncing information, encrypting, testing, refreshing, uploading, patching and cloning laptops. Equipment includes laptops, netbooks, desktops, tablets, printers, scanners, Xray machines, dental sensors and various peripherals. Repair of equipment when necessary. 
  • Maintenance of configuration center and equipment. Duties include scraping labels, relabelling flash drives, cleaning benches, sweeping, testing equipment, replacing parts.
  • Provide remote phone support to providers and on-site events staff
  • Inventory management, after shipment tracking, paperwork
  • Provide Helpdesk Support

Required Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in curriculum working towards IT related field (Associates or Bachelor’s degree); Preferably Network Specialist or Comp. Support Tech degree program
  • Knowledge of Windows based computer systems, technical knowledge of hardware, software and peripheral 
  • Mechanical aptitude and knowledge to troubleshoot physical computer issues
  • Working knowledge of electronic data capturing software and cloning solutions 
  • Experience with Microsoft operating systems and Office products
  • Ability to prioritize workload in a fast-paced work environment while maintaining a high level of attention to detail
  • strong customer service skills along with excellent teamwork skills
  • Ability to adhere to procedures and maintain accurate detailed records a must
  • Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Flexibility with work schedule is needed to accommodate event workloads
  • Capability to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis
  • Must be local to the La Crosse, WI area
