JOB DESCRIPTION TITLE: State/Federal Grant and Private School Finance Specialist

CLASSIFICATION: Administrative Support

REPORTS TO: Executive Director for Academic Services

GENERAL JOB FUNCTION: Direct and coordinate State & Federal programs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Oversee State & Federal Grant Programs
2. Communicate and collaborate with building principals and leaders
3. Assist each building in implementing and evaluating programs
4. Current on laws and regulations concerning state and federal programs
5. Prepare and submit all state and federal reports related to each program
6. Assist administrators in managing budgets within the program
7. Work collaboratively with the finance office
8. Ensure that professional learning aligns to District and School Improvement Plans
9. Manage all deadlines and timelines regarding grant applications and required reporting for the Director. Responsible for preparing required reports with guidance and communication with local, state, and federal program officers.
10. Act as a resource to Principals, Program Coordinators and Supervisors, and district offices regarding grants fiscal and program requirements.
11. Manage levels of access and passwords for the Michigan Electronic Grants system and federal EGrants system on behalf of the Director, for the use of other offices, as appropriate across the district.
12. Complete all required state and federal documentation, activity logs, including time and effort reports, annual certifications and/or personnel activity reports.

DISTRICT DESCRIPTION: The District has approximately 3,600 students and is located in western Michigan. We service approximately 380 school-of-choice students from outside the district and county. The ethnicity within the district is 58% African American, 21% Caucasian, and 13% Hispanic. Currently, 12% of our students qualify for special education services. Our students come to us from families with a large diversity in income earnings and job types. The District contains four K-5th grade elementary schools, a 6th-8th grade middle school, and a 9th – 12th grade high school. PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Preferred:
1. Master’s Degree or higher
2. Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of job experience in a similar position.
3. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable 4. Significant knowledge of State & Federal resources and systems.
