Full-Time Shift(s): MON,TUE,WED,THU,FRI 7am-6pm; 45 hours/week

OVERVIEW:
Working as Full-Time Asset and Vendor Specialist, you will enjoy the opportunity of performing a variety of corporate accounting responsibilities to process transactions and reporting related to assets and vendors for Fastenal's world-wide locations. You will be a subject matter expert in the department, specializing in fleet administration, purchasing cards, vendor approvals, and related tax information reporting.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
The duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
o Coordinating and processing asset administration activities including vehicle registrations, credit card maintenance, and gas card maintenance
o Coordinating and performing vendor control activities such as vendor set-up, approvals, and tax documentation
o Assisting with fixed asset activities such as purchases, sales, transfers, and projects
o Processing and auditing various fleet and asset vendor invoices
o Processing month-end close and reporting activities
o Coordinating and processing annual tax information reporting activities, including 1099s
o Communicating with other departments and external contacts related to fleet administration, purchasing cards, and vendors
o Participating in the planning, testing, and implementation of development projects
o Completing special projects, analysis, and other administrative tasks

REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
The following skills and qualifications are required for this position:
o Possess or working towards an accounting/finance degree OR have relevant work experience
o Excellent written and oral communication skills
o Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
o Highly motivated, self-directed, and customer service oriented while demonstrating enthusiasm, tenacity, and flexibility
o Demonstrate strong organization, planning, prioritizing abilities, and attention to detail
o Exhibit strong problem solving, deductive reasoning, and decision making skills
o Ability to learn and perform multiple tasks in a fast paced environment
o Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
o Demonstrate our core values of ambition, innovation, integrity and teamwork
o Ability to pass the required drug screen (applicable in the US, Puerto Rico, and Guam ONLY)

PREFERRED POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
o Proficient using PeopleSoft
o Prior leadership experience
