Staff Accountant

 POSITION SUMMARY:
We are seeking a Staff Accountant to join our Finance Team to provide support for our accounting and financial reporting activities.  This position will be responsible for a variety of general accounting tasks including journal entries, Accounts Payable, bank reconciliations and account analysis.
 
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES:
  • Prepare and upload journal entries accurately and efficiently for various accounting areas including but not limited to payroll, fixed assets and prepaid expenses.
  • Perform Accounts Payable function including setting up new vendors, entering invoices, generating weekly check, ACH and wire payments and filing all necessary supporting documentation.
  • Manage employee cash advances including journal entries and completing accurate cash advance reconciliation analysis.  Timely communicate and follow up with employees to clear outstanding and aging cash advance balances.
  • Complete monthly Trial Balance account analysis and bank reconciliations accurately and efficiently and research and resolve all reconciling differences in a timely manner.
  • Assist in other tasks as needed including any ad hoc analysis or special projects and any other miscellaneous and departmental related duties.
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting
  • A minimum of 3 years relevant experience
  • A blend of public accounting and private experience preferred
  • Nonprofit accounting experience a plus
  • Advanced Excel skills and the ability to manage and analyze large volume of data from various sources
  • ERP system implementation experience preferred
  • Financial Edge AP and GL and Blackbaud CRM experience preferred
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple assignments, priorities and deadlines in a dynamic, very fast-paced environment in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication.
  • Must be detail oriented and accurate with strong organizational skills
  • Must have unrestricted authorization to work in the United States.
