Director of Enrollment and Community Outreach

Promise Academy is looking for an outstanding leader to oversee and implement enrollment and community outreach. The Director of Enrollment and Community Outreach will be responsible for creating and leading a comprehensive enrollment and outreach program that achieves full enrollment and establishes strong community partnerships. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced individual with a proven record of community outreach, fresh thinking, and a commitment to ambitious but achievable goals who is dedicated to improving the educational outcomes of Cleveland's youth.
The Director of Enrollment and Community Outreach will be a key member of the Promise Academy team as the school strives to realize its mission of educating and graduating students who have dropped out or are at risk of dropping out from traditional high schools.
The salary range for this position is $45,000 to $50,000, depending upon experience.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Enrollment (approximately 35% of focus)
• Develop year-round enrollment plan to achieve and maintain target enrollment at Promise Academy. • Develop annual enrollment forecasts and budgets.
• Coordinate and oversee student recruitment activities, including promotional events, campus tours, student interviews, and other recruitment and retention activities.
• Planning and leading enrollment initiatives.
• Leading school tours for prospective families as well as community stakeholders.
• Follow up with potential students and shepherd applicants through the enrollment process.
• Serve as main point of contact and provide a high level of customer service to families and partners throughout the entire recruitment and enrollment process.
• Smoothly and consistently hand-off new students to Director of Student Culture and Student Records Coordinator. Community Outreach (approximately 30% of focus)
• Identify local community members, organizations, and businesses where meaningful partnerships with Promise Academy can be established.
• Establish and maintain relationships with businesses, civic leaders, and community organizations that result in new student leads and community partnerships.
• Work with the Board of Directors to promote the school, recruit volunteers, and develop community partnerships.
• Represent Promise Academy positively at community events, meetings, and other outreach activities.
• Lead school tours for prospective families and community stakeholders.
• Serve as the primary staff support for the Outreach and Community Engagement Committee.
• Marketing and Communications (approximately 20% of focus)
• Develop and implement an annual marketing and communication plan, including print and electronic recruiting material.
• Manage and develop the school’s social media, website, and other digital media communications including working with outside partner companies and contractors.
• Build monthly content plans against a comprehensive communications calendar that supports communications efforts to both internal and external audiences, including, staff, families, and partners.
• Work with Promise staff to gather information for social media posts, newsletters, website and other collateral materials.
• Create, package, monitor, and distribute recruitment and other resource materials for student enrollment and retention programs.
• Craft a monthly e-newsletter for external communications.
• Develop and ensure adoption of and adherence to Social Media and External Communications Policy. Data Analysis and Reporting (approximately 15% of focus)
• Update student recruitment data trackers on a weekly basis.
• Review, secure, and ensure the quality of all data collected and utilized in the enrollment process. • Monitor and assess data to evaluate the effectiveness of recruitment efforts and scholarship programs, including social media, marketing and other emerging technologies that enhance yield with potential students and their families.
• Provide regular reports on enrollment, community outreach and marketing efforts and related performance data.
• Advise and manage CRM communication campaigns, plans, workflows, and related CRM tasks to achieve enrollment goals.
QUALIFICATIONS Education and Experience
• Minimum of three years of community outreach and engagement experience.
• Demonstrated experience working with diverse populations.
• Demonstrated experience developing, managing and optimizing social media, recruitment and marketing materials and programs.
• Experience working effectively with youth, community leaders, and community organizations and institutions.
• Demonstrated project management skills to oversee several projects simultaneously and consistently meet deadlines.
• Ability to cope in potentially high-stress situations.
• Proficient in computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and graphic design programs.
• Experience working with volunteers, volunteer committees, and boards of directors. • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to develop strong working relationships.
• Bachelor’s degree required, ideally in Marketing, Community Development or Urban Studies; Master's degree preferred. Skills, Beliefs and Mindset
