PT Nurse Manager

The Nurse House Manager (RN) oversees and coordinates admission decisions and patient care activities throughout the hospital on the assigned shift.Leadership oversight of direct hospital personnel in additional to participating in the development and mentoring of hospital nursing staff. The Nurse House Manager has oversight of the day to day hospital operations in collaboration with the Administrator on Call (AOC) to include the implementation and support of hospital policy, procedure and patient flow/throughput. Consults with staff, physicians, CNO/COO or Administrator on Call (AOC) on nursing issues, interpretation of hospital policies to provide optimum customer satisfaction.Collaborative oversight of the hospital's bed capacity and placement, inconjunction with bed management, transfer center, and leadership to maximize bed capacity. Management of day to day and future staffing and scheduling working with central scheduling office and unit leadership to ensure established staffing guidelines as well as fair and equitable schedules. Works with unit leadership in resolving and following upon patient complaints including service recovery. The Nurse House Manager will also collaborate on quality initiatives, maintaining quality standards to includeestablished goals and initiatives to support patient care & positiveoutcomes. Provides direction and leadership to employee's for quality care initiatives, customer service andp atient experience. The ideal candidate for this role will have previous nursing leadership experience in an inpatient and/or outpatient setting. The Nurse House Manager contributes to the long-term growth and viability of the organization; ensures high quality, cost effective patient care; addresses issues of customer satisfaction and human resources management. Responsible for holding all staff accountable in maintaining compliance with CMS Conditions of Participation and Joint Commission Standards. The incumbent performs all duties and tasks in accordance with performance standards established for the job. The incumbent may have access to highly confidential patient, employee and/or Mercy proprietary information, and must handle & protect the information in accordance with hospital & system policies, HIPAA requirements and the highest level of ethical standards. The incumbent is responsible for reporting all security events, potential events,or other security risks to the organization.The incumbent is responsible for participation in and completion of all patient safety initiatives appropriate to the position and conducts all job responsibilities according to the Mission and Values of Mercy Hospital.
