Elementary School - Art Teacher
Summary:
Plan, organize and coordinate art activities. Establishes learning objectives consistent with appraisal of student needs, curriculum framework, and knowledge of human growth and development. Creates a classroom environment that provides for student involvement in the learning process and enables each student to achieve learning objectives. Improves skill and knowledge base in current trends, research, and methodology in instructional techniques, technology, multicultural content, problem solving and interdisciplinary connections.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Art or a related field from a four-year College or University. Must be certified by the Wisconsin Department of Instruction. Must be able to work independently with little direct supervision, accept responsibilities and be self-motivated.
Working Conditions:
This position is in a classroom setting. Noise level is low to moderate depending on instructional plans. May have to sit or stand for long periods of time. Being able to walk up and downstairs occasionally throughout the day is necessary. May include lifting, bending, pushing, and pulling.
