Special Education Teachers
The Cannon Valley Special Education Cooperative is seeking multiple special education teachers for the 2020-2021 school year. These positions are at the Setting IV programs serving students in elementary and secondary grades with Emotional/Behavioral Disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disabilities, and/or Developmental/Cognitive Disabilities.
The special education teacher will be responsible for:
- providing direct instruction to students in academics, social skills, and specific IEP goals
- attending the building child study meetings
- providing support to staff, students, and parents
- conduct evaluations for students on caseload
- lead team meetings to develop the IEP
- keeping data on student progress
- collaborate with other staff, families, and outside agencies
- maintain the IEP and due process documents
- ensuring due process procedures are followed
Skills/Qualifications:
- MN Teaching License in the area of EBD, ASD, DD additional licensure areas will be considered
- Experience working with students with EBD and/or ASD and/or DD
- Strong interpersonal communication skills
- Maintain confidentiality
- Knowledge of interventions and strategies in disability areas
