IT Specialist

As part of our company’s information technology (IT) team, while under limited supervision, the IT Specialist assists business associates over the phone, through email correspondence, and face-to-face to fix computer and software related problems. In addition to issues of support, the IT Specialist will perform software upgrades and program custom solutions when necessary.

Essential Areas of Expectations:

·      Help Desk contact to support end user problems. All contacts must be logged into our support desk software to track and trend issues that may be affecting our business associates.
·      Perform software upgrades when necessary to provide the latest enhancements to our applications.
·      Install, modify and perform minor repairs to personal computer hardware, telephony solutions and software modules.
·      Support all Canopy related components, such as software modules and hardware equipment (scanners, industrial computers and peripherals).
·      Order necessary equipment and software while maintaining vendor relationships.
·      Install and/or coordinate cabling as needed. This includes running data/telephony runs; make custom patch cables and trouble shoot existing wiring.
·      Create/Modify/Delete the necessary user/group accounts as needed.
·      Coordinate the repair of IT related equipment/devices.
·      Manage the assets of the corporation and log all assets in database application. These assets include hardware, software, and service contracts.
·      Work with Systems Analyst(s) and Application Analyst so they will be able to perform basic support in their absence.
·      Maintain the backup media rotation of all backups and inform either the System Analyst 1 or Director of Information Technology of any issues that may arise with daily, weekly, or monthly backups.

Additional Expectations:

·      Assist with user training with the suite of Microsoft programs, Canopy and other applications. This training will provide a continuous effort to improve our end user effectiveness using our system and tools.
·      Modest travel to our Columbus, OH and Norcross, GA facilities when necessary.
·      Other IT related duties as needed.
 
Qualifications:

·      Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent education
·      One to three years of experience in the Information Technology Field
·      Functional knowledge with network topologies, network security, telephony, Microsoft Exchange Server, Microsoft 2012 Server, Access and MS Office 2016
·       Excellent written and verbal communication skills
