Statewide Salt Coordinator

Position Summary:  
This position performs complex agreement/contract tasks related to procurement and payment of state and local purchased services and materials used in the maintenance of Wisconsin’s State Trunk Highway and Local Highway System. This position functions as a contract and purchasing expert and advises on policy and procedures, analyzes problems, and evaluates needs in the coordination of the state’s purchase of chlorides ($100+ million/ year), while also developing and revising contract specifications for state-furnished materials. This position is also responsible for verifying, coding, and approving invoices submitted and providing information and support for budgeting purposes. This position also acts as a back-up for regions to assure load tickets match invoices and when liquidated damages are assessed that these load tickets reconcile invoices.

A qualified candidate will have:
• Working with a financial system such as Mainframe, QuickBooks, PeopleSoft, Peachtree, etc.
• Interacting with a diverse group of stakeholders including external and internal parties.
• Utilizing Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, Outlook, etc. (or similar).
• Auditing financial documents/transactions (e.g., invoices, purchase orders, etc.).
