Supervisor of Data Network & Security - La Crosse, WI, Eden Prairie, MN, Madison, WI or Local Telecommute within 4 hours

This position will be responsible for the Data Network, Security Operations and Data Center Facility systems for OptumServe. The successful Supervisor of Data Network & Security will be responsible for providing network related analysis, design, and integration services including coordination between clients, vendors, and other internal technical staff.

If you are located within 4 hours of La Crosse, WI, you will have the flexibility to telecommute* as you take on some tough challenges.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Manage and develop a team of Network engineers and ensure a high level of performance
  • Create and maintain a highly available Data Network
  • Sets team direction, resolves problems and provides guidance to members of own team
  • Adapts departmental plans and priorities to address business and operational challenges
  • Influences or provides input to forecasting and planning activities
  • Engineering and Operations of Network Technology including: LAN/WAN, VPN, Data Center, Remote Sites and Teleworkers, Firewalls, IPS/IDS
  • Manage Physical installs and cabling for all Data Center infrastructure including servers, storage, network and telecom systems
  • Manage and maintain Data Center Facilities power and cooling systems
  • Research and recommendation of hardware and software products to be acquired
  • Coordinate and monitor troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose common system problems; document system events to ensure continuous functioning. Recommend course of action and implements as approved
  • Oversee root cause analysis in problem management

  • Associates degree or equivalent military experience
  • 6 years overall experience in Data Networking
  • 2 years experience with Firewalls IDS/IPS Security Operations
  • 2 years experience with VoIP, Highly available Internet and VPN
  • Ability and interest to develop others
  • 2+ years experience leading a team
  • US Citizen with ability to obtain a government clearance (SF86 Position of Trust)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Current CCIE certification
  • 2 years of experience with FortiNet VPN and Firewalls
  • Experience with cabling in IDFs and Data Centers
  • Supervisory Experience
