Network Analyst, On-Site in La Crosse, WI

Position Description Perform daily and weekly tasks to ensure efficient, balanced, secure and uninterrupted operation of all Network infrastructure and Data Center Facility systems. This includes coordination between clients, vendors, and other internal support services. Assist in managing and maintaining LHI's IT infrastructure environment, including installations and hardware support of servers and devices to sustain business operations.
 
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Configure and maintain Network Infrastructure including routers, switches, gateways and firewalls
  • Physical installs and cabling for all Data Center infrastructure including servers, storage, network and telecom systems
  • Operate and maintain Data Center Facilities power and cooling systems.
  • Act as a technical resource to others to resolve problems and issues.
  • Anticipate needs and proactively identify solutions.
  • Plan, prioritize, organize and complete work to meet established objectives.
  • Assist in maintaining centralized documentation of IT infrastructure information, including hardware/software licensing, network/environment diagrams, SOPs and work instructions.
  • Assist in the research and recommendation of hardware and software products to be acquired.
  • Provide an accurate record of work in request / incident management tracking tools.
  • Coordinate and monitor troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose common system problems; document system events to ensure continuous functioning. Recommend course of action and implements as approved.
  • Utilize standard corporate tools to record change and problem activities for tracking purposes.
  • Perform / Assist in root cause analysis in problem management
  • Utilizes Change Control process when scheduling maintenance for LHI environments.
  • Maintain system inventory through centralized management database system.
  • Evaluate processes and procedures for opportunities of improvement.
  • Perform general system configuration, backups, maintenance, and optimization of network infrastructure.
  • Be result oriented with tasks and complete with high sense of urgency and quality.
  • Upgrade systems and processes as required for enhanced functionality and security issue resolution.
  • Participate in on-call rotation.

Required Qualifications:
  • Associate’s Degree or higher in Computer Science, MIS or equivalent training.
  • 2+ years IT experience in Network Technology Support, Systems Administrator or Technology Support.
  • Analytical and logical demonstrating strong a troubleshooting skillset.
  • Experience in Troubleshooting complex technology issues.
  • Able to participate in paid on-call rotation (i.e. every other week).
  • Able to work normal business hours and paid overtime if needed
  • United States Citizenship with ability to obtain favorable adjudication for a US Government clearance following submission of Defense Health Agency eQip Form SF86
 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Working experience with Networking systems and Data Center Facilities. 
  • Experience installing network cabling.
  • Experience in supporting daily IT operations, communications software/hardware
  • Experience with Windows Operating System 2008 / 2012 / 2016 and Linux.
  • Experience working with software installation/upgrading procedures.
  • Good communicator with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Good organization skills to balance and prioritize work, and multitask.
  • Motivated, self-directed and driven.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Able to interface with third-party vendors for supported software and hardware.
  • Able to assess risks when making changes to IT environments.
  • Comfortable working in a high pressure operational environment running business/mission critical software and hardware
  • Experience with Networking Principles, Internet Protocol Suite (TCP/IP), Local Area Networks (LAN) and Wide Area Networks (WAN).
  • Information Technology Certifications.
