Director of Human Resources

The Director leads the human resources function for the school system, serving as a strategic advisor to leadership on human resources issues. The Director is a key member of the GRACE staff responsible for areas including new employee orientation; employee relations; benefits design, implementation and government reporting; compensation administration and performance management. Responsibilities include working as a strategic partner and change agent to ensure organizational success by identifying and supporting the GRACE mission, vision, values, goals, budget and action plans. 
 
General Duties/Responsibilities: 1. Provides direction, leadership, coordination, communication and management to the human resources team and supports the GRACE leadership team. 2. Manages day-to-day human resource operations for GRACE; human resource-related record keeping and file management, employee performance appraisal system and improvement plans, policy development and documentation, employee relations and compensation. 3. Develops and maintains the human resources policies, procedures and best practices for the organization, which are reviewed and approved by the Human Resources Committee of the Board of Trustees and the full Board of Trustees. 4. Serves as a staff liaison to the Board’s Human Resources Committee. Advocates the perspective of administrators and staff in the development of policies and practices, while maintaining sensitivity to the needs and goals of the GRACE School System. 5. Works with the Diocese of Green Bay to ensure policies, procedures and benefits meet their requirements and expectations. Reviews any terminations, reduction in force and non-renewals with the Diocese attorney. 6. Provides a source for interpretation and consistent application of personnel policies, and for resolving problems with compensation, benefits and other matters related to employment. 7. Provides excellent customer service to employees; supports GRACE President, GRACE Board members and school principals with human resource needs. 8. Processes GRACE bi-weekly payroll. Works with the Benefits Specialist and payroll service provider to ensure accuracy of employee information. 9. Fulfills ACA Reporting requirements and meets the government set deadlines. 10. Works within annual budget to help build staffing models for the schools; extends contracts and work agreements in accordance with school site needs and budget. 11. Facilitates and monitors the preparation of annual employment contracts and work agreements.

Minimum Qualifications:  Broad knowledge and experience in employment law, compensation, organizational planning, organization development, employee relations, safety, and training and development  3-5 years of Human Resources Management  Relevant Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience  PHR/SHRM-CP certification preferred
