Accounts Payable/ Accounts Receivable Intern

Position Summary

This position will work under the direct supervision of our Systems Account & Business Analyst. The position is responsible for assisting with the entry of accounts payable activities, accounts receivable activities, preparation and entry of general ledger vouchers, and accurate entry of cash receipts. If time permits there will also be some inventory cycle count activities. Attention to detail, strong interpersonal communication skills, and a willingness to collaborate with other business units is essential.


Responsibilities

·        Prepare and enter validated accounts payable vouchers
·        Assist the accounting department with mailing checks, filing, and special projects
·        Review daily invoicing reports for proper general ledger distributions
·        Prepare and enter monthly general ledger vouchers
·        Assist with month end close responsibilities, as needed
·        Enter daily cash receipts to customer accounts
·        Assist with cycle counts and inventory management through our ERP system (SAGE500)
·        Other duties and special projects as assigned


Qualifications

·        Junior or Senior level student in Accounting/Finance program
·        Previous experience in a manufacturing setting or related internship a plus
·        Proficient computer skills – Windows Office programs (Outlook, Excel, Word)
·        Strong verbal and written communication skills
·        Ability to meet deadlines while maintaining accuracy
·        Self-motivated and able to work independently and in a team setting
·        Must be able to follow instructions

An office environment is typical in this position, with occasional visits to the warehouse. The noise level is generally quiet. The employee will be required to wear personal protective equipment when performing responsibilities in the warehouse (ie: safety glasses, safety toe shoes, etc.).
