IS Quality Assurance Intern

The IS Quality Assurance Internship is a great opportunity for the candidate to gain real world experience in Software Testing and Quality Assurance Development. This position works closely with Business Analysts and Application Developers to test project and application requirements.  In this internship the candidate will develop critical skills including time management, planning, communication skills, problem solving and collaboration skills. This internship is year-round, working 15-20 hours/week during the school year around your class schedule and fulltime hours during summer break. This internship is located in Green Bay, WI.
What you’ll do:

  • Assist in writing manual test cases based on requirement specifications for the project.
  • Work with the business and IS to develop test cases.
  • Assist in the creation and execution of test plans.
  • Assist in executing manual test cases and tracking any defects found during test execution.
  • Monitor testing progress.
  • Assist with test data setup.
  • Assist in development of automated functional and load test scripts.
  • Become familiar with different business areas and the processes related to those areas.
  • Identify areas of focus and prioritize testing based on prior areas of concern and current and future development.
  • Assist in the review, evaluation and document existing quality assurance/testing processes and standards.
  • Partner with software development team to ensure delivery of a high-quality product compatible with project timeline targets.

What you’ll need to succeed:

  • Actively enrolled as a student in a bachelor’s degree program majoring in Computer Science, IT/IS Business Analysis, Information Technology, or related field, required.
  • Must be able to work year-round, working 15-20 hours/week during the school year around your class schedule and full-time hours during summer break.
  • Must have at least 2 semesters remaining in school.
  • Skills in software quality assurance in a formal software development environment is a plus.
  • Skills with automated testing tools is a plus.
  • Skills with Test Case Management tools like Tricentis qTest or Atlassian Jira are a plus.
  • Moderately technical.  Passionate about technology.
  • Proven track record of completing projects to specifications.
  • Ability to work independently as well as within a team.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional team environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships and communicate at all levels.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, creative and troubleshooting skills.
