ROLE: Sales Intern
Interested in the lucrative world of SALES?

We are not telemarketers-we sell our LED lighting products across the country. These products are highly desirable due to the energy-saving benefits. In many cases, a local utility company will subsidize purchases!
To be effective, this role requires a friendly, helpful demeanor and a willingness to succeed. The candidate must have strong communications and people skills. This individual must be comfortable using the phone, presenting products and recognizing and capitalizing on opportunities for selling and upselling. 
Outreach/outbound efforts, including both calling and emailing are expected, and we will train you on our products and the art of selling. 
We have a huge database of customers and prospects, so there is no shortage of “warm prospects”.
To excel, this position requires determined dialing and follow up, and a passion for “closing the deal”.  
Must be comfortable researching and connecting with qualified prospects. 

Training will include working with seasoned salespeople and managers to learn and understand:
-Prospecting
-Diagnosis
-Phone strategies
-Warm and cold calling
-Asking leading questions
-Technical knowledge of our products
-The benefits and selling point of our products
-Rebates/incentives
-Our Sales process including following up via phone and email
-Entering and managing prospects into our database, creating proposals, negotiating,
 and closing business.
-How to negotiate with vendors and suppliers to assure best cost and delivery.

Key Qualifications:
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Attending college or a college graduate.
  • Proficient in English, second language a plus.

Responsibilities/General Job Description:
  • Generate new customer sales.
  • Cultivate and nurture ongoing business relationships.
  • Identify and research new prospects online.
  • Call prospects with a goal of making a sale or generating an RFQ.
  • Gather contact information for subsequent permission-based follow up, sales & marketing automation, and ongoing engagement.
  • Secure additional warm leads by requesting referrals, prospecting on the fly, networking, etc.
  • Diagnose customer needs and present relevant solutions.
  • Ask for the order-Influence customers to buy or request quotes. 
  • Utilize support channels where needed to expedite sales.
  • Become educated on our competition as well as how we compete against their products and business models.
  • Take incoming calls, follow up, and close sales.
  • Operate ethically and methodically by following our process, policies and procedures.
  • Offer suggestions that will improve internal processes.
  • Contribute to team effort, education, and effectiveness through open communication and a positive outlook.
