Entry Level Hardware Engineer in Buffalo Grove, IL (15958BR)

Teradyne is a leading provider of ATE solutions to the world's foremost semiconductor companies.

We are looking for creative Hardware Design Engineers to join our instrumentation development teams.

Roles and responsibilities include:
  • Analog and power circuit design
  • PCB design
  • Specification margin analysis
  • Design verification
  • Design for reliability, testability, and manufacturability
  • Participation in industry seminars and ongoing skills based training
  • Participation in design reviews, failure analysis, writing specifications
  • Collaboration with semiconductor suppliers
  • Resolving component obsolescence issues
  • Working on customer issues with existing instrumentation.

Designing a new instrument for this challenging market requires excellence in variety of disciplines including Firmware, Software, QA, Thermal Design, Mechanical Design. Hardware designers must be able to work as part of these cross-functional teams and be able to navigate the challenges that occur in designing such complex products.

  Basic Qualifications, Experience, Skills & Education Required
  • BSEE in Electrical or Computer Engineering
  • Course work focused on hardware design, analog circuit analysis, power supplies and some analog lab experience. 
  • Must have basic programming skills in C, C++, VBA
  • Proficiency with circuit simulation tools (e.g. Pspice)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with common lab bench top equipment (scopes, DMMs, function generators, etc)
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and challenging environment
  • Self starter with the ability to take the lead in managing one's career
