Position Summary:
he Department of Communication in the College of Arts and Sciences at the University at Buffalo seeks candidates for a Clinical Assistant Professor (10 month) position, beginning with the 2020-2021 academic year. This is a non-tenure-track position with an initial three-year appointment and possibility of renewal. The successful candidate will be expected to complement the department’s expertise in communication and technology research. COM clinical faculty also have familiarity in measurements and data analytic procedures in the scientific study of the process of communication. Candidates should hold a doctorate in Communication and show evidence of high quality teaching in a variety of courses at the undergraduate level, including small and large size courses, with a diverse student body. Previous undergraduate supervision and the ability to be conversant with graduate level students a plus. Clinical faculty in COM teach 8 small or 6 large courses over the academic year with the opportunity to engage in departmental service. Academic-year salary is $45,000 – $49,000 with generous benefits.

Minimum Qualifications:
Ph.D. in Communication; documented evidence of effective teaching large courses at the undergraduate level, ideally across more than one university.
Preferred Qualifications:
Specialization in Interpersonal Communication; experience speaking/performing for large groups, experience with R1 university level research (such as peer reviewed conference presentations, scientific journal articles, etc).
