Intern - IT
Overview
The Software Developer Intern is responsible for the design, code, and testing of software programs and applications that enable Agent, Client, and Associate facing technologies and capabilities for SECURA Insurance. This includes researching, designing, documenting, and modifying software and specifications throughout the production lifecycle.
Responsibilities:
· Maintain and support solutions within the Sales and Marketing team, including designing, creating and managing programs in .Net, Java, DB2, SQL
· Consistently write, translate, and code software programs and applications according to specifications
· Work independently and assume ownership of all assigned deliverables
· Perform assigned project tasks in a highly interactive team environment while maintaining a productive and positive atmosphere
· Other duties as assigned
Skills & Experience
· Computer science or information systems course work or previous internship experience in related field
· Programming experience in .NET, Java, DB2 and SQL
· Programming experience in legacy applications such as COBOL are a plus
· Exposure to both database and server configuration
· Demonstrates an eagerness to learn
· Detail‐oriented and ability to work collaboratively in a deadline‐driven environment
· Excellent oral and written communication skills
· Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
· An understanding of Agile work methodologies such as Kanban or Scrum
