Claim Internship - Operations

During the 12 week internship, the Claim Operations Intern will work with Claim Leaders and staff to gather business requirements, design and re-build the Claim SharePoint site to assist technical and support staff with their claim handling, compliance, reporting and resource needs. Assist as needed with other Claim Department projects, programs, communications, and operational processes and procedures.
 

Responsibilities

• Work with appropriate business units to update the Claim SharePoint site with the goal of creating a user-friendly resource for technical and support staff within Claim.
• Document any new SharePoint process, library or hierarchy to ensure future maintenance of the site is well understood.
• Work with appropriate business units to assist with the development of project briefs, cost benefit analysis, and business specifications in creating new workflows or process/procedural improvement for the Claims units.

Qualifications

  • Must be pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Risk Management and Insurance, or an applicable field. 
  • Junior or Senior status in Fall of 2020
  • Interest in commercial insurance (property, casualty, or workers' compensation) and Claim handling is preferred.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in using Microsoft Office skills in Excel, Word and Visio.
  • Ability and experience using SharePoint Modern is preferred.
  • Familiarity using SharePoint Power Apps including Power Automate.
  • Basic understanding of programming logic specifically as it applies to SharePoint workflows.
