Design Certification Engineer 1

Whether you love designing avionics electronics circuits or ensuring compliance with various rules and regulations, our design certification engineers enjoy the flexibility of a multi-faceted job that allows them to have a hand in creating sophisticated, state-of-the-art avionics circuits. Our detail-oriented engineers assist with aircraft certification projects to ensure well-planned, efficient and timely aircraft systems implementation. If you think you have what it takes, apply for our full time Design Certification Engineering (DCE) position to contribute to product development through a diverse set of skills. Project and system development contributions are not limited to one area and a DCE can work in one or many different disciplines consisting of the following essential functions:
  • Participate in forming new processes in support of air transport customers.
  • Participate on project teams to develop new avionics products and guide projects to successful completion in meeting customer deliverables.  
  • Systems Engineering in support of product development. 
  • Be responsible for deliverables during all life cycles of product development. Concept, Planning, Requirements, V&V, Development, and Deployment. 
  • Responsible for the development of QTPs and QTRs. 
  • Responsible for achieving entry and exit criteria for gating reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, etc)
  • Capture scope, lead planning and track progress of systems engineering activities in a comprehensive schedule.
  • Lead risk and reliability analyses to guide overall design assurance.
  • Work with partners and test sites, create interface definition and design specification documents from engineering documentation. 
  • Effectively communicate development status to customers. 
  • Manage risks and opportunities.
  • Track, evaluate and report on system metrics and schedule.
Qualifications
Qualified candidates for this role will possess a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Computer Engineering, System, Software or Aerospace Engineering from a four-year college or university OR an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience with a 3.0 cumulative GPA or higher.   • Strong written and verbal communication skills; strength in teaming and collaboration in a diverse work environment, self-starter.
  • Previous work or internship experience with circuit design for consumer or aviation products is highly preferred.
