Sample Scout
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to; scouting fields for pests and diseases, conducting stand counts at crop emergence, sampling crops to identify optimal harvest, collection and input of grower pesticide records, map fields using mapping software, data entry for DMPS Lean knowledge and assisting with sustainability projects. Miscellaneous administrative duties as assigned, operate forklift as needed.
Qualifications, Skills and Abilities
Capable of becoming forklift certified, available to work from June 1st through mid-September (students are qualified), ability to maintain confidentiality with all information, must communicate in a professional manner and work cooperatively with others, experience with computers, specifically an understanding of Microsoft Office, ability to safely transport self to/from locations, potential for irregular work schedules/overtime due to harvest fluctuation, withstand repetitive walking demands both in and outdoors; to include uneven and varying texture, etc., seldom but may be required to bend, lift and carry weights up to 10-75 lbs.
Training will be completed on the job. Minimum age requirement is 18 years if age.
