Quality Engineer Co-op/Internship

The Quality Engineering (QE) Intern will manage quality projects and tasks related to the assembly, welding, test, and painting of industrial gas processing and refrigeration equipment.  
 
The QE intern will gain valuable work experience in quality tools such as Control Plans, Continuous Improvement, 8D Structured Problem Solving, and Root Cause Analysis. Additionally the QE intern will learn the inputs and outputs needed in high-mix / low-volume manufacturing.
 
Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement process controls and standardized work for different stages in the manufacturing process.
  • Lead internal and external corrective actions using structured problem solving and cross-functional teams.
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement projects to improve First Pass Yield on units and packages. 
  • Support manufacturing with data collection and data analysis. 

Additional Information:
  • This is a part-time 1st shift role, offering approximately 20 hours per week during collegiate semesters and 40 hours per week during the Summer.
 
Requirements
Basic
  • Currently pursuing a B.S. in Design, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher 
  • Ability and willingness to work part-time during the school year, and full-time during the summer.
Preferred
  • Strong communication skills
  • Familiarity with standard manufacturing processes (assembly, welding, paint, etc.)
  • Experience with MS Office applications
