Sports Management Internship

An entry-level position providing an in-depth experience in several aspects of sports management. We encourage college students to apply but all applicants will be considered. Requires ability to work flexible schedule including nights and weekends. Ability to work remotely will be possible for some tasks during the spring. Must be comfortable interacting with all levels within the organization as well as outside contacts. Strong time management and attention to details are required. This is a non-paid, for-credit position. Gas cards and meal tickets will be provided to interns.

OPENINGS: 2-3 for both Spring and Summer

RESPONSIBILITIES BEFORE SEASON: Interns will be assisting the General Manager with the following tasks before the season (spring semester):
·      Program advertising calls
·      Program copywriting
·      Season/single game ticket ordering
·      Reformate schedule for all media outlets that run ‘What’s happening this week’-type sections
·      Season ticket requests
·      Public appearances
·      Handle ‘freebee’ requests
·      Anything else the GM may request of you

RESPONSIBILITIES DURING THE SEASON: Interns will be working more on-site at the park for games during the season assisting with the following duties:
·      Park maintenance (coordinating with city park department)
·      Coordinate and monitor: laundry, travel, umpires, visiting teams, trainers
·      Assist with player issues (injury issues, morale issues, etc)
·      Be available at ball park for PR reasons
·      Set up and clean up before and after every game
·      Must be available for all home games/team events unless excused
·      All other duties as assigned

·      Be capable of taking direction in completing assigned tasks under direct supervision
