2020 Summer Intern: Human Resources - Field Operations

Field Operations Intern Program
The Summer Field Operations Intern Program is open for dedicated and hardworking students.  The goal of the Spectrum Field Operations Intern Program is to provide current students with exposure to a real-life business setting, while giving them the opportunity to learn about our industry. Spectrum provides an atmosphere that is intended to broaden an entry level candidate’s professional understanding while promoting self-confidence, accomplishment, and career development.
  
The program is 10 weeks in length - approximately May 27th-July 31st
 Summary of Projects:
Talent Acquisition:
  • Shadow Recruiters to learn BrassRing & the use of an ATS (applicant tracking system)
  • Attend intake meetings with recruiters and hiring managers
  • Perform initial resume review of applicants   
  • Improve the quality of content for job postings
  • Perform external searches and source passive candidates (late in internship or follow on year)
  • Work with new and existing outreach partners
Human Resources:
  • Generate and prepare identified HR reports as required
  • Support employee recognition activities
  • Maintain records and files in accordance with state and federal laws
  • Compensation Analytics
  • Conducting research, analyzing information and data and presenting findings in a concise format
  • Diversity and Inclusion
  • Work with managers to ensure we are supporting these initiatives
  • Work with Recruiting to determine resources for potential hires - including outreach partners
  • Mentorship program
  • Engage with managers to ensure we are engaging new hires from the beginning. 
  • Meet with supervisors and managers to support the program
  • Turnover
  • Working within PS/Oracle systems and procedures
  • 1-2 week rotation with the HR team to explore the role of the HR Business Partners
  • Develop an understanding of the relationship between HR and Recruiting
 Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Completing a summer project assigned by respective department and/or functional area
  • Working with fellow interns on a cross-functional group project
  • Attending internship development activities as scheduled
  • Ability to commit to a full time work schedule (40 hours/week) for the length of the program
  • Performing other duties as assigned
 Skills required for program:
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four year college or university
  • Rising Junior (current sophomore) and above 
  • Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Programs (Word, Excel, Access)
 Rising Junior or higher with a minimum GPA of 3.0
