Android Application Development College Intern
Who are we?
The android team at Zappos is responsible for maintaining and improving the shopping experience in the Zappos android app, a highly rated app available on the Google Play and Amazon app stores. We partner with our iOS and design counterparts to create rich experiences that lead the shopping category on both platforms. Our work includes looking at app reviews as well as analyzing user studies and working with our analytics team to understand what works and what needs to be improved.
What will you do?
As a college intern on the android team, you will play an important role in our app’s development process. You’ll work with designers to ensure that upcoming features fit the android design guidelines and make sense as a part of a native android app. As a developer, you’ll work with senior members of the android team to create new features in the android app using our REST-based API’s.
In this position, you’ll be challenged to grow professionally by creating pixel perfect features that work well on everything from a 3.5” phone to a 10” tablet. You will learn about the entire workflow of creating apps professionally, from design through release and bug fixing.

Are you a match?
- Computer science or related major preferred, or if you have a passion for android development, we’re OK with that too!
- Able to finish tasks without direct supervision.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with a customer service orientation.
- Detail oriented and organized.
- Android Studio/IntelliJ IDEA experience is a plus.
- Normal working business hours are Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
- Must be willing to relocate to Las Vegas, NV for the summer of 2020 (did we mention we'll help with that?!).
