Summer Engineering Internship

The City of White Bear Lake has opportunities for Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering Technology, or Land Surveying students for summer internships in the Engineering Department. The positions support the Engineering Department crews to assist with utility, street and other city construction projects.

 

·        Serve as member of construction survey crew using Total Station and GPS Survey equipment.

·        Assist with construction inspection activities including observation and record keeping for water, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, and street reconstruction projects. Street reconstruction includes utility installation, grading and base inspection, concrete curb and gutter, and sidewalk placement and bituminous paving.

·        Assist with varied data gathering to create, maintain, and update Geographic Information Systems (GIS) databases.

·        Provide support with general office work such as documentation of records and general filing.

·        Monday – Friday 7:00 am – 3:30 pm (with the possibility of overtime.)
