Assistant Football Coach - Defense

POSITION: A full-time, professional academic staff position is available in Intercollegiate Athletics beginning February 1, 2020. The working title for this assignment is Assistant Football Coach - Defense with an official title in the Coach title series. This is a Limited appointment as defined in the UWS 15.01 WI Administrative Code. The starting salary will be $31,000 annually. Applicant Confidentiality: Applicant names will be kept confidential throughout the application and interview process. The identity of the successful candidate will only be released upon hire.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution is required. Demonstrated success in all areas of duties listed below. Must have strong leadership and communication skills. A commitment to athletic excellence within an academic environment. Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusiveness.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: A master’s degree preferred.

1.  Assist the head coach in directing a highly successful program within the guidelines of the University, the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC), and NCAA Division III.

2.  Assist in the recruitment, instruction, mentoring, and retention of qualified student athletes consistent with the academic standards of the University.

3.  Assist with the care and inventory of equipment for the program.

4.  Assist with the promotion of the sport with students, alumni, and members of the community.

5.  Assist with promoting program revenue generation related to the program.

6.  Participate in department fundraising and public relations events.

7.  Assume other duties as agreed upon by the Head Coach and Athletics Director.
