Alliant Energy is currently seeking a Data and Analytics Program Manager to work in a limited term role in Madison, WI.  This long term temporary engagement will last between 12-24 months. There is a strong potential to join the company at the end of the term as a permanent employee in a leadership role.  In this position, you will provide analytics, entrepreneurial, and strategic leadership experiences and participate in a leadership role in advancing our corporate strategic initiatives. You will work extensively on strategic and complex opportunities in the utility analytics area.

Job Responsibilities :
  • Provide directional leadership and support to the Business Transformation teams to ensure that financial impacts are considered in strategic decisions consider.
  • Tackle complex analytical problems and lead the qualitative and quantitative analysis of projects that may require review by the Executive Review and Risk Committee (EERC) and/or the Board of Directors.
  • Perform financial, process, and data analysis to allow company leadership to make informed decisions on complex and strategic initiatives. Understand process improvement trends and opportunities to improve operational efficiencies with leadership.
  • Research industry trends, analytics approaches, financial analysis, and impacts to affected work areas. Guide senior business leaders through business cases for strategic analytics initiatives. Identify, assess and communicate risks and opportunities of various strategic initiatives and projects.
  • Mentor and coordinate organizational development for analytics skills and knowledge of other analysts throughout the company. Lead as a champion for change and support the Business Transformation team in developing creative solutions to simplify and streamline activities.
  • Provide strategic advice to executive leadership driven from analytics.
  • Conduct research benchmarking analysis to identify opportunities to drive more efficient operations/cost profile. Recommend possible ways to help reduce costs for our customers and share ideas with leadership.
Job Qualifications :
Education Requirement
  • Bachelors degree with an emphasis in Analytics, Operations Research, Finance, Business, Statistics, Technology
  • Master's of Advanced Degree Preferred

Experience Requirements
  • 10 years related experience (statistics, performance management, analytics, research, finance)

Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
 
  • Ability to architect big data and analytics architectures in a cost-effective manner.
  • Proficiency in visualization tools with strong financial analysis and planning skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge with pattern recognition, machine learning, predictive modeling, and descriptive inferential statistics preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and deliver strategically important projects through to completion
  • Extensive knowledge of analytics and other trends within the company and industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate information clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing including presentations.
  • Demonstrated effective leadership skills with the ability to influence others and deliver results.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and solve problems with innovative, creative solutions.
