Parks Financial Management Intern 1 or 2

Parks mission is to provide an ideal system of parks, natural resources, and recreational opportunities which will enhance the quality of life for everyone. You will assist Parks with reaching their mission by working with the Parks Superintendent to provide analytic and research support in the formulation of the Parks Division Capital and Operating Budget requests. You will also research performance and management improvements for Parks Division operations. Successful candidates will be in the process of securing an undergraduate or graduate degree in public policy or a related field; have an interest in public financial administration and policy analysis; and have demonstrably strong research, analysis, communication, presentation, and Microsoft Excel skills.

HOURS: This is a seasonal internship with approximately 10-15 hours per week from mid-March until mid-May, 38.75 - 40 hours per week from mid-May through August, and a potential for 10-15 hours per week from September to December. Schedule will be based on the needs of the Division and the intern's availability.

Graduate level students are preferred however undergraduates may be considered. The selected candidate may be hired as a Management Intern 1 or 2, depending upon the candidate's relevant work experience and overall qualifications; to be determined at the time of hire. The hourly rate for a Management Intern 1 is $17.46; and for a Management Intern 2 is $19.26 per hour.
