Application Development Intern
The Application Development Intern will work as part of a team to develop custom software applications and learn all facets of the application development process.
This internship is a located in Green Bay, WI. and is year round, working full-time hours during the summer and part-time hours (15-20 hours/week) during the school year.
What you'll do:
Development
- Participate in the development of custom applications. Design, review, code, test, and install.
- Learn to use and understand software development utilizing technology and methodologies in the following areas.
- Oracle JET - development for web based UI and tablet UI applications
- Oracle REST data services implementation and utilization of this technology in a multi-tier software environment.
- Subversion - software version control use and best practices for working on concurrent development within a large team.
- Utilize issue tracking software to identify, research, solve, and communicate software changes.
- Working with internal customers to provide support for production systems. Research problems, define changes, prepare, test and install changes
- Help technical leaders with software development tasks
- Participate in the requirements analysis, design and implementation of applications
- Develop an understanding of business and technical requirements within a project
- Participate in project meetings
- Review technical design specifications with senior team members
- Prepare and conduct unit, integration, and system testing. Work with business partners on the final acceptance testing
Continue Personal Growth
- Provide for and participate in educational, personal growth and cross-training opportunities
- Learn new technologies (i.e. SQL, PL/SQL, Oracle JET, Oracle REST data services, etc.)
- Learn how to manage a project from beginning to end by taking a business need and developing a solution to solve it
- Gain an understanding of the various roles in the application development area (analysis, design, project management)
- Learn different facets of the business and how to work on cross functional teams/projects
What you will need to succeed:
- Enrolled in a bachelor degree program in the following fields of study: Computer Science, MIS, or Business preferred. A minimum of 3 semesters remaining in school.
- 3.0 GPA Minimum
- Exposure to project-specific programming languages
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and in teams
- Ability to learn quickly
- Good problem solving skills
