Consumer Insights Partner

Job Description
We are looking for a Consumer Insights Manager to join our small-ish, fun, customer-obsessed team. The ideal candidate will have solid qual and quant skills, will be savvy at translating research results into “the story”, and will be a passionate advocate for the shopper’s point of view…not to mention someone who’s looking for an opportunity to work for an exciting, admired brand with history, values and purpose. We’re looking for a self-starter with initiative, drive, and enthusiasm around helping build consumer empathy within our Whole Foods Market teams.

This is an excellent position for a trained researcher who is early in their insights career and is seeking room to grow. We’re looking for candidates who are eager, enthusiastic and have enough experience to hit the ground running to make a business impact.

Position is located in Austin, TX.
Responsibilities
  • Develops, executes, and analyzes consumer research projects to address business needs related to shopping patterns, branding, positioning, eating habits, category consumption, advertising, etc.
  • Collaborates with stakeholders in Marketing and other functions within the company.
  • Develops and present findings to stakeholders.
  • Consumer advocate ensuring voice of consumer is represented in all business decisions.
  • Manages outside vendors/agency partners to execute consumer research and control costs.
  • Manages projects ensuring that they meet time and budget parameters.
  • Creates, develops, organizes and sends internal communications including e-mails, presentations, etc. to bring the WFM customer to life
  • Approximately 15% travel required
Desired Skills & Experience
  • BS or BA, MBA or MMR preferred.
  • 2-3+ years experience with qualitative and quantitative research techniquesCPG or retail industry experience preferred.
  • Able to balance business risk to research rigor when recommending and managing different types of custom and syndicated studies.
  • Able to objectively interpret research, extract insights, link to strategies, and communicate in a motivating way.
  • Strong oral, written and formal presentation skills, including ability to communicate complex ideas in a simple way.
  • Passion for sharing the voice of the customer, and creativity to get teams engaged in our work and enthusiastic about our customers.
  • Approaches conflicts as opportunities: understands others quickly and can find common ground without compromising objectivity.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced work environment and can handle ambiguity and changing business priorities and questions.
  • Highly self-motivated, solution-oriented, assumes personal accountability for results and performance.
  • Working knowledge of marketing and market research fundamentals, experimental design, and statistics.
  • Familiarity with syndicated data sources and analysis like IRI or Nielsen scanner/panel.
  • PC knowledge including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
