Environmental Compliance Intern


The participant will gain a basic/introductory knowledge and understanding of a broad range of environmental regulations pertaining to water, air, soil and sediment, cultural and biological resources, waste management, and radiation, including requirements, implementation and rationale for the regulation. Additionally, the participant will gain a basic understanding of how regulations apply to, affect and are implemented at a Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL). Experience will be gained through both participation in hands-on in-the-field activities and office research related to a variety of environmental regulations specific to the work location at LANL. In the process, the participant will also gain skills in effective and professional communication of complex concepts to a range of audiences. The culmination of the internship will involve the preparation of a final project and presentation that demonstrates understanding and knowledge of environmental regulations and relationship to the site, which will be incorporated into regular site environmental observations.
