- An academic background in science or engineering.
Desired Knowledge, Skills, Work Experience, and Education It is desirable for the candidate to have:
- Knowledge: 1) basic sterile techniques used in laboratory 2) basic molecular biology 3) basic microbiology 4) international system of units (SI)
- Skills: 1) accurate pipetting 2) preparation of solutions 3) preparation of growth media 4) ability to interconvert SI units of measurement
- Ability to: 1) be a team player 2) communicate clearly orally and in writing 3) keep a clear and organized notebook 4) follow protocols with attention to details 5) BS in Biosciences or Microbiology or related field
It is desirable for the candidate to have:
- Proficiency in: 1) PCR 2) Flow cytometry 3) ELISA 4) DNA purification, characterization, modification 5) Protein expression, purification, and characterization.
