Interdisciplinary (Project Manager)

Responsible for the overall management and planning, scoping, development, design, construction, and direction of major civil works and/or vertical construction project or programs. The incumbent applies extensive knowledge, leadership and management in leading the execution of large and complex engineering and science related projects and / or programs. The initial assignment of the selected candidate will likely be management of the Upper Mississippi River Restoration (UMRR) Program.


Responsibilities

Required to integrate sponsor/customer requirements and participation into a comprehensive management plan that is fully coordinated with all contributing agencies and organizations. Control and manage assigned projects budget and schedule assuring that District commitments to the sponsor/ customer are met.Serve as the districts primary point of contact for sponsor/customers and other external agencies on assigned projects and/or programs. Typical construction projects include major training facilities, research facilities, power plants, medical centers/hospitals, national test facilities, or major locks and dams. Typical environmental project assignments include heavy metal sediment stabilization, hazardous landfill closure, or chemical waste containment. Responsible for the development of all required sponsor/customer and Corps of Engineers agreements, leading the negotiation of such agreements on the part of the Corps of Engineers.
