Account Manager, Savory Ingredients - West Coast USA
The Challenge
Position will be based on the West Coast - Preference CA/Los Angeles or San Francisco

The Savory Ingredients team focuses on combining new taste directions and bright science to create exciting new products that keep pace with these ever-changing market demands. With years of industry expertise, we make it happen by supporting formulators and flavorists not only in their quest for a winning and authentic taste profile – but also in simplifying labels and reducing or replacing unwanted ingredients.
This Account Manager role, will develop, implement and realize the account strategy and plan in order to ensure the realization of planned business results and long term customer relationship objectives are achieved.
Our Account Managers lead new product development, product modifications and new product launches sharing in early stage for customers. The customer base of approximately 15 or more, is a mix of mostly regional and a few global accounts, across multiple market segments with a sales budget between € 5 – 15 million.
 
The Position
  • Define and implement a strategic account plan.
  • Translate into Financial profitability and goals both strategically and tactically and be accountable for top line profit.
  • Lead contract negotiations with the respective account(s) and ensure the conclusion of sales contracts.
  • Build sustainable cross layer networks in the defined accounts by both direct engagement and by positioning key stakeholders to the right level in the account to speed up development and brick wall running business.
  • 25% Domestic and occasional international travel is required
 
The Ideal
 
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Must have at least 5 years of account management and/or sales experience or related experience
  • Previous experience in the food or flavor industries preferred
  • Strong examples of identifying new business opportunities, negotiation skills, creation and maintenance of close customer relationships and organization & discipline related to sales processes are required
  • Experience with a customer management software platform, a strong plus
