VetTech Intern - Electrical

We conduct this research on a 6,800-acre prairie, 35 miles outside Chicago, a treasure that has been designated a National Environmental Research Park.

A VetTech Electrical / Electronics intern provides routine technical support for area of assignment; typically, an experiment or support group. Depending on the area of assignment, fabricates, operates, tests, repairs, and/or modifies a variety of electronic equipment, systems and devices. Tasks are accomplished under direction supervision of a Fermilab employee and in cooperation with project teams, scientists, engineers, and support personnel and in accordance with established policies and procedures.

The intern may gain exposure to electrical systems, utility control systems, slow control systems, reading schematics and engineering drawings, circuit board design and assembly, soldering, wiring, signal and noise readout systems, power supplies, electric field production and control (RF systems), and data acquisition systems.
