If this sounds like fun, we would love to have you join us as a Summer Intern! You would join our Corporate Functions Chemistry Transformative Properties Technology Team.

 

You will help work to create solid product forms that deliver actives such as surfactants, moisturizers, perfume, cooling compounds, enzyme, bleach and fabric softeners. This will enable the creation of entities that enable controlled dissolution and release behavior. You will integrate with our Corporate Functions Chemistry Transformative Platform Technology Team and work with business units. This project will allow for a completely immersive experience across Products Research, Product Design, Analytical, and Process Engineering. 

 

Job Duties will include:

 

1. Perform literature/background research on new solid form platform technology with the support from Infolytics.

 

2. Learn key challenges in product design, evaluate and/or develop new materials and technologies which result in the creation of a high-quality stream of formula prototypes for consumer/technical testing.

 

3. Define and execute Design of Experiments (DOX) on improving product stability and desired consumer benefits. 

 

4. Coordinate with multi-functional groups (formulation, analytical, project management, process engineering).

 

5. Communicate through electronic notebook, technical reports, presentation, and other documentation for team to assure quality and value.

 

 

Requirements (skills / experiences) for the role:

    * PhD student

    * Experience in Surface Chemistry or Sol-gel Chemistry or Green Chemistry

    * Experience or working knowledge of formulations and Design of Experiments (DOX)

    * Working knowledge of enzyme technology is a plus

    * Working knowledge of modeling & simulation is a plus

    * Experience with conducting independent and collaborative research projects.

    * Excellent problem-solving skills

    * Ability to learn quickly and work independently
