Intern-Business Operations, Systems, and Compliance Internship #3265

Position Description:
The General Dynamics Land Systems Intern Program provides an opportunity for students looking to start or continue the transition from academia into industry. Our three-month internship assignments provide compensation based on area of study and class standing, and have the students embedded in key functional areas of our business, getting real-world experience and mentorship from seasoned professionals. The internship within the SCM Business Operations, Systems, and Compliance department will involve various assignments supporting business operations, systems, and compliance. Activities to be supported may include:
Business Operations:
  • Review purchasing, planning, and inventory metrics and determine out of tolerance indicators
  • Support SCM supplier survey activities to gather required data
  • Work SCM and cross functional management to resolve identified process and/or data issues
  • Support Supplier Help Desk as required
  • Conduct end user and supplier training as required
Systems
  • Execute mass data loads and updates to ERP system data
  • Run weekly and ad-hoc SCM operational reports for end users, management, and supply base
  • Assist in application issue resolution and / or enhancement development
  • Participate in application testing associated with application patches and/or upgrades
  • Provide end user support for IT access and/or equipment requests
  • Assist in new report and/or metric development
Compliance
  • Perform purchasing data sweeps for regulatory compliance
  • Perform root cause analysis on purchasing documents
  • Audit the supplier on-boarding process to ensure compliance
  • Monitor / drive end user access attestation activities
  • Assist in SCM internal and external audit activities
  • Purchase order audits
  • PCARDS audits
  • ISO audits
  • SOX audits
  • Government audits
  • Assist in the management of the GDLS PCARDS program

Position Requirements:
Candidate must meet the following minimum requirements:
  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited 4 year university or college
  • Attained at least a Sophomore status based on university/college’s class standing requirements at the start of the internship
  • Preferred – GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Must be a U.S. Person (i.e. a lawful permanent resident of the U.S.)
  • Must successfully pass standard pre-employment screens and must provide an original transcript from their school before their first day of employment
  • Must be able to complete a minimum of a full time, 3 month assignment
