Intern-Systems Engineering #3440

Position Description:

The General Dynamics Land Systems Intern Program provides an opportunity for students looking to start or continue the transition from academia into industry. Our three-month internship assignments provide compensation based on area of study and class standing, and have the students embedded in key functional areas of our business, getting real-world experience and mentorship from seasoned professional. 
This is a Summer internship position within Engineering, supporting Tracked Combat Vehicle (TCV) group’s design activities in the System Engineering area. The TCV intern will perform activities in any one or more of the following areas:
  • Support concept development and system to system interference & clearance analyses.
  • Develop space claims for static condition, dynamic condition, sway, shot line, and keep out zones.
  • Develop and maintain Product Structure and establish preliminary EBOM.
  • Perform safety analysis tasks and document safety hazards, working with the appropriate personnel to eliminate hazards or mitigate them to an acceptable level.
  • Perform Human Factors mission, function, and task analyses.
 
Position Requirements:

  • Pursuing a Bachelors degree in an Engineering discipline, Mechanical Engineering preferred
  • Minimum overall GPA of 3.0 is preferred
  • Candidates must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must be a U.S. Person
  • Students must be able to complete a minimum of a 3-month, full-time assignment.
  • Must have strong communication skill
  • Good computer skills required in the following: PC (Excel, Word, Power Point, Project, Internet Explorer)
