Jr. Software Engineer


SYMVIONICS has an Immediate Opening for a Jr. Software Engineer at Edwards Air Force Base, CA

Develop software for the IADS application. This position is responsible for the design, implementation and test of software systems in accordance with program requirements and company procedures. This position will be able to work with a large application source code base in a team environment using knowledge of user interface code techniques, virtualization techniques and Operating Systems interfaces.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Develops software solutions to meet customer requirements through team and individual efforts. The focus of this position will be to work on the Modular Mission Control Room Upgrade at EAFB. This position will participate in the analysis and composition of requirements, design of architectural and component software features, design and implementation of system, design and implementation of test plan, and documentation of final product. Position will also evaluate IADS in a virtual environment. Should be able to adapt to new languages, methodologies, and platforms to meet the needs of the project. Develop applications written in C++. Initial duties may include reviewing code, writing documentation, and following test procedures for software and system level testing. Knowledge of virtualization techniques, UI design, graphics development and/or programming, including real time programming. Work alongside software development and test engineers as part of an agile process. Requirements: C++ required. Knowledge of graphics programming and must have a good command of data structures and algorithm

Education and/or Experience and Education
If you are a recent graduate and are interested in an entry level position you should possess the following:
  • Bachelor’s degree (BS) from a four-year college or university, preferably in Computer Science, Engineering, or Mathematic and minimum of one (1) year related experience and training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
  • Strong technical skills including understanding of software development principles
  • Hands-on experience through coursework or internship
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance
  • U.S. Citizenship required

Experience and Knowledge of the Following:
  • Strong Working Knowledge of C++ with at least 1 year professional or academic experience
  • Knowledge of User Interface Design
  • Knowledge of real time programming
  • Knowledge of graphics programming
  • Software and system level testing
  • Good command of data structures and algorithm techniques
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows
