JOB SUMMARY:
The Out of School Time (OST) Coordinator, will work to support K-5 scholars and families in our After School Enrichment and Summer Programs at PCYC. The OST Coordinator assists with daily program operation, family enrollment and engagement while ensuring quality customer service and a safe, fun, and positive environment at PCYC. To perform this job successfully, you must be able to carry out each job function satisfactorily.
 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Support Scholar and Family Engagement:
  • Act as OST’s liaison and primary point of contact with scholars, their families, and on-site visitors
  • Coordinate program enrollment, including recruitment, retention, and data entry
  • Manage program outreach and communication with families through multiple touchpoints
  • Organize family engagement events
  • Build high quality, professional relationships with PCYC scholars, families, youth work staff, youth interns, and other PCYC staff

 Assist with the daily operation of OST program:
  • Maintain internal and external program databases, documents, and demographics
  • Support program food service
  • Manage program transportation
  • Monitor and assist with partner needs in program
  • Attend internal and external events and field trips

 Provide scholar support:
  • Use positive behavior support and mediation strategies with scholars 1:1 and in small groups
  • Work in partnership with the Northside Achievement Zone (NAZ), ensuring full implementation of NAZ engagement resources
  • Consult with youth workers, Scholar Engagement Specialist and other staff regarding scholar needs, skills, and abilities

 Contribute to overall OST leadership:
  • Participate in monthly OST leadership meetings.
  • Co-facilitate and participate in professional development workshops and coordinate team meetings as needed
  • Other duties as assigned
 
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
 Education and Experience:
  • A combination of relevant education and work experience is necessary for this position
  • Bachelor’s Degree in education, social work, psychology, youth studies, or other related field
  • Experience in youth work is preferred
  • If candidate has five years of experience working directly with inner city youth and families in an afterschool or summer program, two years of which are in a program coordination role, the education requirement above may be reduced or waived

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Strong computer and data management skills, including Microsoft Excel
  • Creativity, patience, persistence, responsibility
  • Ability and willingness to model behavior consistent with the agency mission
  • Ability to communicate effectively and persuasively in oral and written communication, both with individuals and with groups
  • Strong sense of purpose and vision for enhancing academic and enrichment opportunities for children
  • Willingness to enthusiastically engage in fun activities for children
  • Knowledge of YPQA, SAYO, or similar program assessment and evaluation tools Licenses and/or certifications
