Embedded Application Hardware/Firmware Engineering Intern

Position Summary
As the Embedded Application Hardware/Firmware Engineering Intern, you will support the research and development of Hardware and/or Firmware for a variety of smart, robust and reliable commercial and industrial products across Zurn’s entire product offering. Our connected products or ‘DiRXN’ (pronounced ‘direction’) team is leading cutting edge work that will shape the future of the plumbing industry!
 
Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support to Engineering, Customers, Suppliers, Marketing, Sales, Manufacturing, and QA/QC
  • Support the design verification and testing of smart embedded controllers, RF technologies, Gateways and communication devices for various connected products 
  • Troubleshoot issues related to application engineering, prototyping, deployment and operations of IoT and connected products

Experience and Skill Required
  • Currently enrolled at an accredited college/university degree program pursuing a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related program
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint and Excel)
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
 
Experience and Skill Preferred
  • Working knowledge of typical hardware interfaces: I2C, SPI, GPIO, UART, etc. 
  • Testing and evaluating embedded systems using LDOs, DC/DC converters, microcontrollers, sensors and creating technical data packages to document designs of embedded systems
  • Excellent communication, teamwork and presentation skills
