Position Summary

Depending on the area you are assigned, your internship will include a mixture of large product based experiences, and/or immersion in daily/weekly responsibilities with an emphasis of continuous improvement to get a true understanding of the "day in a life" of our accounting teams

As a part of the intern program, you will have the opportunity to take advantage of the following:

Networking Events – Rexnord hosts multiple networking opportunities in the Summer that give you exposure to other interns, the leadership team, and executive leaders. 
 
Coaching and Mentoring – You will have a structured on boarding process to introduce you to Rexnord’s corporate culture and provide you regular feedback. 
 
Real Work Experience – Our internship process does not include getting coffee for your boss or running copies. We will provide you a real opportunity to run reports, share your analysis, and improve our processes. 
 
Responsibilities
  • Prepares balance sheet reconciliations (low to medium risk) and various other accounting statements and reports. 
  • Assist in the month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing process including preparing journal entries
  • Reviews and verifies the accuracy of journal entries and accounting classifications assigned to various records.
  • Assist with other ad hoc accounting projects
  • Independently coordinates accounting matters with other departments, locations and divisions.
  • Assist in implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls under SOX and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
 
Experience and Skill Required
  • Junior/Senior at an accredited university with studies in Accounting; GPA of 3.3 or higher                                  
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and particularly strong Excel skills involving pivot tables and macros
  • Prior experience working in an office setting is a plus
  • Able to work 40 hours per week during the summer 20 hours per week during the school year
