Administrative Manager - District Attorney

Department: District Attorney
Salary Range: $48,462/yr. to $74,327/yr.
Status: Full Time Monday - Friday
 
PURPOSE AND SUMMARY
The Office Supervisor, under the general direction of the District Attorney, coordinates, directs and supervises all functions and support staff in the District Attorney's office.
         
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Supervises the support staff and activities within the District Attorney's office. Serves as District Attorney’s Administrative Assistant often making sole decisions when District  Attorney is engaged in court obligations, including attending Administrative meetings and reporting at same. Supervises the training of new employees and recommends additional training for existing employees. Participates in the hiring, promoting, disciplining and termination of employees. Prepares action sheets and job performance evaluations for staff under their supervision. Develops and constantly monitors office procedures to insure accurate completion of statutory activities and to insure the efficiency of those procedures. Prepares annual budget to be presented to the District Attorney for approval; oversees management of same. Serves as sole Administrator of current case management software program; creates, updates and/or maintains all Data, Templates and applicable WI State Statutes information. Oversees Discovery process working directly and independently with Law Enforcement Agencies. Collects and organizes data and prepares state reports summarizing same. Prepares special studies and reports as required and/or supervises staff in their preparation of reports. Utilizes specialized knowledge of court system to resolve technical questions. Supervises the ordering and inventory of all office and printing supplies.
Supervises staff in the preparation of necessary documents for the judicial system. Assist in the training and supervision of interns. Performs other duties as assigned.
 
QUALIFICATIONS
 
High school graduate or equivalent. Minimum of 5 years legal experience and 4 years supervisory experience or a combination of both legal and supervisory experience is preferred. Knowledge of administrative, managerial and supervisory principles and practices. Working knowledge of budgeting, planning, program analysis methods and techniques and computers. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Ability to establish and maintain a willingness to work with the public and staff assisting a wide variety of individuals; must exercise tact and courtesy. Ability to supervise independently in a fast-pace, high pressure work environment. Ability to abide by office procedures and to keep all information confidential.
