This position will include answering visitor questions, assisting with event planning, working with elementary students in the education program, leading interpretive crane tours and working with and supporting volunteers. This position will have the opportunity to get out on all four refuges within the Sherburne NWR Complex (Sherburne, Crane Meadows, Mille Lacs, Rice Lake) and assist with biological surveys as needed.

We are looking for candidates with customer service experience, good verbal and written communication skills, willingness to work with volunteers, and the ability to work in a team and independently. Knowledge about local plants, birds, mammals, and/or insects is preferred but not required.

As compensation, the intern receives a $1690 stipend monthly, a $6095 education award following the successful completion of the term and the pleasure of working with a great team!
